BSOD Fix for Ryzen 5 and ASUS ROG STRIX B450-f Gaming PC
In this video I outline the process for preventing, or fixing, BSOD (IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL) errors on an ASUS B450-f Gaming motherboard using a RYZEN 5 3600 cpu and Patriot/PNY/Corsair RAM that is not on the qualified vendor list. These Blue Screen of Death errors in Windows 10 make it look as if your RAM or motherboard are faulty. But, they really aren’t…
If you’re going to build a PC using a 3rd Gen Ryzen chip and the ASUS ROG STRIX B450-f Gaming motherboard make sure the box has the banner in orange (in the pic below) that says it works with Gen 3. If it doesn’t and you get an older model, you might need a Gen 2 cpu to upgrade the bios to allow you to run your Gen 3 chip.

The RAM above is listed on the ASUS QVL but the specific version that was delivered was not. However, using the method described in the video I have gotten 3 different sets of RAM from 3 different vendors to work. (PNY/Corsair/Patriot)
